Defying The Design by Khalil Hammond
Medium: Ballpoint pen and graphite on paper
Dimensions: 8.75 x 11
Artist Statement: The picture is meant to reflect a man who turns his back on all things detrimental in his life in order to embrace his betterment through strengthening the bond between him, his child, and his woman. I believe my picture captures the essence of the theme because the family unit has been crippled by our society where allowed outside influences aid its destruction. Against all odds the man seeking to restore the importance of the family unit is truly defying the design.
