Fire Butterfly by Steven Musser
Medium: Acrylic on watercolor paper
Dimensions: 9 x 12
Artist Statement: A fire burns from within us all defying the existence yet allowing the beauty to show through and not burn the creature itself. A creature that defies nature by transforming from a seemingly ugly thing into one of the most colorful things in nature itself. We all have the ability to transform and should be allowed to do so freely, without judgement and let the true beauty of nature show to all.
Image description: Acrylic painting of a butterfly on a grey background. Butterfly is stylized, facing to the side. A flame pattern in blended red, orange, and yellow is on the large wings and body.
