Bill of Rights by Gary Farlow

Bill of Rights by Gary Farlow
Size: 8.5 x 11

Artist statement: Enclosed, please find my submissions for the six art show, “Picture A Free World” I was greatly inspired by your theme this year as I am now in my 32 year of incarceration. The hands are folded, as if in prayer over the bill of rights and seeking justice. Notice the hands are of an aged prisoner. This calls attention to the ever increasing number of elderly and ailing inmates. Yet the continued denial of parole or furlough due to age, health, time, serve, etc. Thank you for allowing me to participate. Please let me know that you received this as a lot of mail has just “vanished” recently.

Image description: A pair of wrinkled light brown hands is pressed together, resting on top of a yellow page with “Bill of Rights” written across the top in fancy typography. The contents of the Bill of Rights are numbered and listed below. To the left of the hands, a small barred window is creating shadows across the Bill of Rights.
