Breaking the Chains of Violence by Julie McConnell
This piece was inspired by the quote, “Break the chains of violence. Begin with life sentences. Move forward to help others,” by Dorothy Farbo. The piece is a digital illustration depicting two doves breaking the chain of a pair of handcuffs. One of the doves is a white dove, representing abolition of the current prison system, and the other is a mourning dove, representing the lives that were lost while incarcerated.
Medium: Digital Illustration
