The Power of Nature by Jane Hein
Medium: Stained Glass, Concrete
Dimensions: 18″ X 16″
Artist statement: Bars, prison bars, are not of nature. Nature has a way of overcoming unnatural things. Nature is strong and beautiful, and can be devastating: cracking and crumbling concrete, covering and disappearing structures, overcoming bars and barriers. Nature endures while the works of man fade.
This piece is meant to live in a garden like a stepping stone.
Did you know Jane’s niece Amanda is serving a life sentence? We met Jane at one of our art shows and then she became a part of the Coalition to Abolish Death by Incarceration and joined the board of Let’s Get Free. Amanda is an artist too and deserves to be free!
