Trans joy by Clyde Jurysta
Medium: Print of a pen and ink drawing
Size: 9 x 12
Artist Statement: Clyde Jurysta is a trans queer artist currently living in Philadelphia. They create works involving the melding of electricity and color and are interested in the influence of the spectrum of light as it affects the appearance of color. Their current themes include gateways to other worlds, optical illusions, and the supernatural. Some of their inspirations are folklore, old knowledge, and communing with nature. Their queer identity influences their art and subject matter. In a grander sense, they want their art to bring light and joy to those who see it.
Image Description: This black and white fine lined pen drawing depicts two trans people dancing together with joy. They are naked except for their jewelry and they have snakes covering their faces. Their bodies have cool patterns on them.
