Christ Leaving Jerusalem by Harlow Cuadra
Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Size: 12 x 9 inches
Artist statement: “I used a younger picture of myself as the model for Christ and had friends pose on Zoom visits so that I can sketch them. These days whenever someone’s in trouble instead of helping, people whip our their phone to increase the likes on their tik tok or other social media. I wonder if phones were around then I bet people would do the same to those in trouble, we don’t change. No one cares? You?”
Image description: Jesus is carrying his cross and people around him photographing him by their smartphones.
