Artist Statement: My artwork is designed to foster an appreciation of animals and nature in general. I was a professional zoologist for three decades and a college professor for 18 years before incarceration. When I got to prison, I was able to continue my passion through a completely new approach, Art. I have now been drawing for four years and I look forward to exploring new media like painting and lithography when I get out. All of my drawings focus on species I’ve encounter during my teaching, research and travels.
