Auction & Fundraiser for Abolition 2024
Welcome to Let’s Get Free’s 7th Art Show featuring 84 artists in prison and 60 artists in Solidarity with ending mass incarceration.
All proceeds of auction go to Let’s Get Free. The auction opens on Friday, November 1st at 5 PM and closes on Monday, November 18 at 9 PM.
How The Auction Works:
- Find the piece you wish to bid on. You can either:
- Look for your item in the Gallery Guide below (search or scroll down on this page), or find it through the Online Gallery pages. Click the link to go to the page for your piece, then click the Auction button on that page. OR
- Go directly to the auction website and find the item that you would like to bid on. You can scroll by looking through numbers / titles, or use your browser’s search function (ctrl+F) to find the item (there is no search on the auction website).
- Before you bid, note whether the item can be shipped or if it must be picked up!
- The first time you bid you will have to set up an account which involves filling out your name, phone number or email address, and credit card information. This is the card that will be charged if you win the item you are bidding on. You will only be charged if you are the winning bidder when the auction ends on Monday November 19 at 9pm.
- There will be a selection option for making a small donation to the platform, which would include an extra fee; you can uncheck the box if you like.
- Every time someone outbids you will receive a text or email. If you provided both contact methods, you will receive emails.
- Art Pick Up Sunday November 24, 12– 5pm Please do everything in your power to stop by the Irma Freeman Center. Add this event to your calendar. We will remind you. If you can’t make that email: auctionlgf@gmail.com
- Your item can be shipped it will take 4 – 6 weeks. The auction buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping. $10 flat rate for shipping.

Commutation Now – Film Installation

This film was made in October 2024 for the revitalized Commutation Now Campaign, a statewide effort to pressure the board of pardons, politicians and advocate for meaningful reforms to PA’s commutation process. Please Sign the Petition
The purple squares with messages were made by attendees at our last year’s art show during the art making day when visiting artist Dorothy Burge was here from Chicago. These messages were made for people with life sentences.
A Prayer for A Free Palestine

Still Doing Life Photo Exhibit
206. Still Doing Life consists of 22 pairs of photographs taken 25 years apart of individuals serving life without the possibility of parole sentences in Pennsylvania prisons. Artwork included in Still Doing Life presents the two photos of each individual side by side, along with excerpts of interviews conducted at the two photo sessions. Additional material featured in the exhibition includes informational text panels on the topics of life without possibility of parole sentencing and restorative justice philosophy, as well as hard copies of the Still Doing Life publication and video of the authors (Howard Zehr and Barb Toews) in conversation about the project.
The exhibition, and corresponding book published by The New Press in March 2022, present a deeply moving tableau of people who, for the past quarter-century, have been trying to live meaningful lives while facing the likelihood that they will never be free.

Quilt in Vestibule
Behold our 2nd Community Abolition Quilt & subsequent Raffle! The Abolition Quilt was hand-sewn by a group of volunteers specifically for the Let’s Get Free 7th art show fundraiser. The quilt is 84” x 100” and is made to fit a full or queen sized bed. The pieced top of the quilt is a mix of cotton, polyester, rayon, and wool fabrics that were donated. The quilt is made with cotton batting in the middle and cotton fabric on the back.
31 people stitched this beauty coordinated by Devon Cohen, Sarah Katchpole, and Olivia Robinson.
Our quilt aspires to contribute spiritually and financially to the abolition work here in Pittsburgh.
